NAVIGTAING WORK
Balancing Work and Fertility Challenges
Trying to manage work whilst navigating infertility, IVF, appointments, uncertainty and difficult emotions can feel exhausting.
You may find yourself attending appointments during working hours, struggling to concentrate, dealing with physical side effects, or simply trying to get through the day whilst carrying an emotional weight that few people can see.
Whatever your circumstances, you're not alone in finding this balance difficult.
COMMON CHALLENGES
❤️ Taking time off for appointments
❤️ Deciding if, when and how to tell your employer
❤️ Managing treatment alongside work commitments
❤️ Coping with stress and overwhelm
❤️ Handling comments or questions from colleagues
❤️ Maintaining boundaries and protecting your wellbeing
There Is No Right Or Wrong Approach
Some people feel comfortable sharing their fertility journey with their employer or colleagues, whilst others prefer to keep things private.
What matters most is finding an approach that feels right for you and supports your wellbeing.
There may be days when work feels like a helpful distraction and days when simply getting through the day feels difficult. Both experiences are valid. You are managing more than most people realise, and it's okay to acknowledge that.
You do not have to do everything perfectly. Taking care of yourself is just as important as meeting deadlines, attending meetings, or keeping up with expectations.
Give yourself the same compassion you would offer to someone else facing the same challenges.
